About Me

I’m a twenty-something Canadian doing my best to read my way through an unwieldy TBR and hike my way across the west coast. I was born and raised on a windswept rock in the north Atlantic known as Newfoundland and I’ve since settled in the hipster capital better known as Vancouver.

Newfoundland winters are never-ending, so I fell in love with books at a young age. Growing up I spent my weekly allowance on beanie babies and books that I read over and over again until I finally discovered the miracle that is the library at the ripe old age of 23. I’m not too attached to any genre, but I can most often be found reading historical fiction, fantasy, literary fiction, mystery/thrillers, young adult, and the occasional middle grade book or graphic novel. I rarely read non-fiction, with the exception of essay-type books about feminism, which I can’t get enough of.

My other hobbies include travel, running, hula hooping, camping, playing piano (and more recently ukelele!) and exploring every mountain I can find, whether on foot, skis, or snowshoe. I also volunteer as a Girl Guide leader because I believe girls are amazing and we need to help them believe in themselves at a young age so that they can change the world!
